I watched a really interesting documentary yesterday about Van Gogh – it was fascinating to learn more about his story, and he’s certaintly an intriguing and sympathetic figure. Mostly it really made me want to pick up a paintbrush, sit in the sun and just get to work – so stay tuned, that may happen shortly…

I was sorry not to see the Van Goghs in the Hermitage in St. Petersburg.
The more I look at his pictures and think about his life, the more I am taken with his unique vision. His paintings are ones that I could gaze at for a very long time, in a vain attempt I suppose, to see what lay behind “the artist’s loving hand” as the song says.
Pick up the brush, my son.
