I’ve finally started to shift the creative block that’s been getting in the way of my ideas and progress. Looking through a few books of Romantic painting, I had a few ideas and sketched these.
They each represent a different situation or scene, and could happen over time to one location, or I also thought of possibly having a long horizontal pan that reveals the changes over time across a landscape. When I stood back and looked at the images, their composition interested me. Each one seemed balanced yet different, which I guess was the point- I wanted each one to depict a unique mood and idea. The images base black & white composition seemed intriguing, so I drew a second set of the same images, only this time just with solid silhouettes.
I’m not sure where these are going, but they’re a start – I really like the look of the silhouette compositions! Some colour in my next drawings, I think!
